Collagen remodeling with controlled infrared heat
Near Infrared (NIR) on the Alma Harmony XL PRO delivers a broad infrared spectrum (approximately 700–2000 nm) that penetrates into the dermis and raises tissue temperature to around 40–45°C. This controlled thermal effect stimulates fibroblasts, increases collagen synthesis, and can activate heat‑shock proteins that support tissue repair. The handpiece uses continuous motion and contact cooling to keep the epidermis comfortable while evenly warming deeper layers. We also offer Skin Erbium Laser Resurfacing (Er:YAG 2940 nm) on the same Harmony XL PRO platform when more texture correction is needed. Erbium energy precisely ablates micro-thin layers or fractional microcolumns in the epidermis and superficial dermis, removing damaged tissue and kickstarting a stronger remodeling response. Your practitioner will match the approach—gentle NIR, Erbium fractional, or a staged plan—to your skin type, downtime allowance, and goals.

Most NIR Face Skin Infrared Rejuvenation plans include 4–6 sessions spaced 2–3 weeks apart. You’ll usually notice a fresher look after the first few visits, with firmness and texture continuing to improve over 2–3 months as collagen builds. A single NIR session for the full face typically takes 20–30 minutes. Maintenance is commonly 1 session every 2–4 months, depending on age, lifestyle, and skin goals. If your main concern is deeper lines, acne scars, or pronounced texture, we may add 1–3 Erbium resurfacing sessions spaced 4–6 weeks apart. Pre-care: avoid strong sun exposure and tanning for 2 weeks, pause retinoids, acids, and exfoliants for 3–5 days, and arrive with clean skin. Post-care: expect mild redness and warmth for a few hours after NIR; use gentle cleanser, moisturize well, and apply broad-spectrum SPF 30–50 daily. Avoid hot showers, saunas, and heavy workouts for 24–48 hours. After Erbium, plan for 3–7 days of visible healing (pinkness, flaking, or micro-crusting); do not pick; follow the provided healing regimen and protect the skin from sun while it recovers.

- Oral isotretinoin use within the past 6–12 months (for resurfacing) or as advised by your practitioner
- History of abnormal scarring or keloids (particularly relevant for resurfacing)
- Uncontrolled diabetes, bleeding disorders, or significant autoimmune conditions affecting healing
- Active skin cancer or precancerous lesions in the treatment area
- Pregnancy or breastfeeding (postpone unless cleared by your doctor)
- Recent facial procedures (peels, lasers, fillers) not yet fully healed
- Epilepsy triggered by light or heat (discuss with clinician)
