Expected reactions versus a worsening problem
Tenderness, bruising, redness and swelling can occur around an injection site. They can affect the early contour, so the immediate mirror image is not always the settled result. Follow the written advice from your treating doctor.
A reaction that worsens, becomes unusually painful or does not follow the expected recovery needs assessment. Tell us about persistent lumps, delayed redness or a new change even when the filler was placed some time ago. Do not assume every lump is simple swelling.
Blood-vessel warning signs
Filler can rarely block or affect a blood vessel. Possible consequences include skin injury, visual damage or stroke. Seek immediate medical help for unusual or severe pain, white, grey or blue skin, a visual change or stroke-like symptoms. Contact the clinic urgently as well.

Infection, allergy and delayed reactions
Increasing redness, warmth, discharge or feeling unwell may need prompt medical review. Breathing difficulty or signs of a severe allergic reaction require emergency help. Tell the treating team exactly when symptoms began and what has changed.
Delayed inflammation or nodules can have different causes. Assessment may require an examination and information about the product, previous treatment and recent health events. Do not choose antibiotics, steroids or a dissolving treatment yourself.
Why product records help
Bring the product name, treated area and date if you have them. “Filler” describes several different materials. Even hyaluronic acid products vary. A clinician needs to know what may be present before deciding how to investigate or treat a concern.
Hyaluronidase is a medical option for some HA-related problems, not a guarantee of complete reversal. It has its own risks. Other materials are not simply dissolved in the same way. Do not let the possibility of dissolving make the original decision seem risk-free.

Tell us about allergies, prescribed medicines, supplements, skin problems, previous injections and planned dental or cosmetic treatment. Do not stop medication without advice from the prescriber. Active infection or inflammation may mean postponing an elective treatment.
