Stretch Marks
(Striae) Removal with Erbium Laser

Stretch Marks (Striae) Removal with Erbium Laser is a non-ablative fractional treatment designed to fade color and smooth the texture of stretch marks on the abdomen, hips, thighs, chest, and arms. At Evolution Aesthetics we use the Harmony XL PRO device with the iPixel handpiece to deliver controlled erbium energy into the dermis while keeping the surface intact. Sessions are quick, downtime is minimal, and discomfort is usually low. This approach helps trigger new collagen and elastin so the grooves look shallower and the skin tone evens out over time. It works for both newer red striae rubra and older white striae alba. Results build gradually over a series of visits.
Sharper texture smoothing, minimal downtime, and steady results
Precise targeting of striae
Fractional erbium energy focuses on the stretch mark columns while sparing surrounding skin.
Short treatments, easy routine
Typical sessions take 20–45 minutes, fitting well into a busy schedule.
Low discomfort
Contact cooling and controlled energy delivery keep treatment sensation manageable.
Visible, lasting improvement
Stimulates new collagen for long-term refinement of texture and tone.
Works year-round with sun care
Non-ablative approach allows scheduling across seasons when you follow sun precautions.
No cuts or injections
A non-surgical method that remodels skin from within without incisions.
Before and after
Fractional erbium energy rebuilds collagen without removing the skin surface
This treatment uses non-ablative fractional erbium laser delivered by the Harmony XL PRO iPixel handpiece. The laser creates a grid of microscopic thermal zones within the dermis (microthermal columns) while leaving the epidermis largely intact. These controlled micro-injuries trigger a wound-healing cascade: collagen fibers contract, heat-denatured collagen is cleared, and fibroblasts produce new collagen and elastin (neocollagenesis and neoelastogenesis). Over weeks to months, this remodeling process helps fill and smooth the depressions of striae and reduces the contrast between the stretch mark and surrounding skin. Because the energy is fractionated, untreated skin bridges speed up recovery compared to fully ablative resurfacing. We use calibrated fluence, pulse duration, and density suited to your skin type and the age of the stretch marks (striae rubra vs. striae alba). In clinic, this protocol corresponds to our Skin Laser Resurfacing Striae using the iPixel module on the Alma Harmony XL PRO platform.Contraindications

- History of keloid or hypertrophic scarring
- Use of oral isotretinoin within the past 6–12 months
- Recent significant sunburn or very fresh dark tan in the area
- Photosensitizing medications (e.g., certain antibiotics) without medical clearance
- Uncontrolled diabetes or impaired wound healing
- Bleeding disorders or use of anticoagulants that cannot be paused per doctor’s advice
- Active dermatitis, eczema flare, or psoriasis on the treatment site

Clear milestones: 3–6 sessions, spaced 4–6 weeks, with little downtime
Most people need 3–6 sessions for a meaningful improvement, depending on the age, depth, and size of the stretch marks. Newer red striae may respond a bit faster; older white striae usually need the full course. Sessions typically last 20–45 minutes, including cooling and preparation. Topical numbing can be used when needed. Expect temporary redness, warmth, and mild swelling that usually settle within 24–72 hours; light flaking or bronzing can appear for a few days. Results start to show gradually from 3–4 weeks and continue to build for up to 3–6 months as collagen remodels. Maintenance is optional; some patients choose 1–2 top‑ups per year for further refinement. Before treatment: avoid tanning (including self-tan) for 2 weeks, stop retinoids/acids on the area for 3–5 days, and come with clean skin. After treatment: keep the area cool and moisturised, use SPF 50 daily, avoid hot baths/saunas and heavy workouts for 24–48 hours, and pause exfoliants/retinoids for 5–7 days. Do not pick or scrub any flaking. Hydration and gentle skincare help the skin recover well between sessions. What goes well with Erbium Laser Stretch Mark Removal?
- RF Microneedling for BodyAlternate RF microneedling with Erbium laser to stimulate collagen at different skin depths. This combo reduces the depth and texture of striae more evenly and can tighten the surrounding skin.
- Radiofrequency Body Skin TighteningAfter laser smooths texture, RF tightening helps firm lax areas around the marks. Better elasticity makes lines less noticeable during movement and improves overall skin quality.
- MesotherapyMicroinjections of vitamins, peptides, and hyaluronic acid support recovery after laser. They boost hydration, improve tone differences, and help the skin remodel more efficiently.
- Collagen GeneratorA targeted collagen-induction course keeps fibroblasts active between laser sessions. It helps extend results, improving firmness and bounce in stretch-marked areas.
- LED TherapyRed and near‑infrared LED calm post-laser redness and swelling and support tissue repair. It makes the early healing phase more comfortable and keeps you on schedule for your plan.
