Polynucleotides under the eyes may improve selected skin-quality concerns and the appearance of some dark circles. They do not remove every cause of darkness, fill every hollow or correct an eye bag. The useful question is what makes your eye area look dark: pigment, visible vessels, a shadow, swelling or a combination.

Why one dark-circle treatment does not fit everyone
A brown-looking area, a blue or purple tone and a shadow below an eye bag can look similar in a photograph. They do not necessarily need the same treatment. Skin texture can also make the area look tired without being the main cause of the darkness.
We examine the skin and surrounding contours, ask when the change began and discuss previous treatment. Lighting and makeup can alter what a photo shows. A social-media image is not enough to choose an injection.
An eye concern can have several contributing factors. A treatment that improves fine texture may leave a structural shadow visible. It is better to identify that limit before starting a course than to interpret an incomplete change as a need for more product.
What Plinest Eye aims to change
Plinest Eye is a polynucleotide gel intended for the delicate eye area. It is a separate formulation from the Plinest Gel service we use for facial skin quality. We select the product and areas after assessment; a facial booking does not automatically include the eyes.
The goal is a change in skin quality and appearance. Injections may soften the appearance of selected dark-circle concerns, but substantial hollows, prominent bags and excess skin may need another approach. An injected gel and early swelling can also change fullness temporarily. It is inaccurate to promise no volume change at all.
Are polynucleotides an under-eye filler?
They are used here for skin-quality concerns, rather than as a promise to rebuild a deep tear-trough hollow. That distinction matters when darkness mainly comes from a shadow. A change in skin texture may leave the shadow visible.
Do not assume that “not a filler” means “no fullness or swelling”. An injected gel and the early reaction can make the area look fuller. We assess previous filler, puffiness and the contour before choosing treatment. Do not compare an immediate post-injection image with a healed result.
What the research can tell us
A 2026 observational study of Plinest Eye reported improvement in periorbital darkness. It had no untreated comparison group, and several assessment measures were subjective. The dark-circle subgroups were uneven. These limits prevent a reliable prediction for every individual cause or skin type. Read the study.
That is a reason to discuss realistic goals and review your own response. It is not a reason to promise that all dark circles will disappear or that one product is the best option for everyone.
How do we judge an under-eye result?
Compare the same lighting, head position and makeup conditions after the initial injection reaction has settled. Record separately whether colour, fine texture or puffiness changed. A brighter photograph alone cannot show which feature improved.

Prepare for visible injection marks
Small bumps, swelling, redness and bruising can follow an injection. The thin skin around the eyes can make modest swelling noticeable. Plan around an important event and tell us about travel before agreeing dates.
Follow the written aftercare for your exact product and area. Do not massage a bump, try to drain it or add another treatment to correct an early appearance without advice. We explain which changes to expect and when to contact us.
When an eye concern needs medical attention
Tell us about new or persistent swelling, a previous reaction, fish allergy, medicines and recent cosmetic treatment. We do not plan elective Plinest treatment during pregnancy or breastfeeding, or use it in people with a known allergy to the product or fish-derived ingredients. Active inflammation requires assessment before an injection.
Sudden visual change or severe eye pain needs urgent medical assessment. Do not wait for a routine cosmetic appointment. Trouble breathing or swelling of the tongue or throat after an injection requires emergency help.
Make the consultation specific
Bring details of previous fillers or injections and explain the change that matters most to you. Useful questions include whether your concern is mainly colour, texture or contour; which part may remain; and how recovery and progress will be reviewed.
