If you are comparing Ultraformer prices, you may notice that Ultraformer MPT costs more than Ultraformer III. Is the newer generation worth the difference?
There is a strong case for choosing MPT when you value a more versatile treatment platform and an improved treatment experience. The upgrade brings practical changes in energy delivery and treatment options. Its value is greatest when those capabilities are used in a plan tailored to your face.
At Evolution Aesthetics Clinic in Dubai, we offer Ultraformer MPT treatment. Here is how to understand the upgrade before you book.
At Evolution Aesthetics Clinic, our experience with Ultraformer began with Ultraformer III. When Ultraformer MPT became available, we purchased the new device and moved to the next generation. Our choice to invest in MPT reflects the importance we place on bringing advances in aesthetic technology to our patients.
What do Ultraformer III and MPT have in common?
Both are CLASSYS focused-ultrasound systems designed for non-surgical lifting and tightening. They use energy at selected tissue depths to encourage collagen renewal. Ultraformer III already offers multiple facial and body cartridges, so personalised treatment and different depths are features of both generations. CLASSYS describes the Ultraformer III platform here.
MPT builds on that foundation. The difference is how flexibly the newer system can deliver treatment.
1. Micro-Pulsed Technology expands the treatment options
MPT stands for Micro-Pulsed Technology. Alongside normal dot-mode delivery, it adds a micro-pulsed approach with a broader heating pattern. CLASSYS also offers linear and circular delivery through different handpieces. These give the practitioner more ways to adapt treatment to the intended area. See the manufacturer's MPT specifications.
For a patient, the useful question is how those options will be used in their own treatment. Ask your clinician to explain the planned approach to your jawline, cheeks or neck.
2. Faster energy delivery can make treatment more convenient
CLASSYS states that MP mode delivers energy 2.5 times faster than normal mode. This is a comparison of delivery modes, not a promise that every full appointment will be 2.5 times shorter. Consultation, marking and the areas being treated also take time. CLASSYS explains the speed comparison.
More efficient delivery is a practical reason to consider the upgrade, especially if appointment time matters to you.
3. Comfort is part of the upgrade
CLASSYS presents MPT as offering reduced pain compared with the earlier platform in its product materials. This is a manufacturer claim; it does not establish that every patient will find MPT more comfortable. See the CLASSYS product overview.
You may still feel heat, tingling or deeper discomfort. The treatment area, settings and your sensitivity all affect the experience. Nevertheless, for someone who felt apprehensive about a previous HIFU session, comfort is a worthwhile part of the MPT discussion.
4. Additional cartridges and a dedicated Booster handpiece
The MPT system has ten cartridge options, including dedicated Booster cartridges. Its Booster handpiece uses a circular energy pattern, adding another delivery option to the platform. Explore the MPT cartridge range.
Availability on the device does not mean every cartridge or Booster treatment is included in every appointment. Ask what your quotation covers and which options are relevant to your skin.
Does MPT guarantee a stronger or longer-lasting lift?
A newer device gives a clinician additional tools, but the specifications alone do not prove a stronger or longer-lasting result for every patient. Ultraformer III can still be a worthwhile treatment in experienced hands.
Ultrasound tightening generally produces gradual, modest improvement as collagen develops over the following months. It suits selected laxity concerns; substantial excess skin may require a different approach. The American Academy of Dermatology explains what non-surgical tightening can achieve.
The quality of your assessment and the suitability of the plan remain central to the result.
So, when is paying more worthwhile?
MPT is a compelling upgrade when the price difference buys you a thoughtfully planned treatment that makes use of its newer capabilities. If you are choosing between comparable clinics and treatment areas, its added delivery options, efficiency and potential comfort advantages are sound reasons to favour it.
Compare the complete appointment: who performs it, which areas are included, how the plan is personalised and what follow-up is offered. A headline price or a large shot count cannot tell you all of that.
If your budget is limited, ask what the premium adds in your particular case. Paying more makes most sense when you understand the benefit you are purchasing.
What about recovery?
Non-invasive tightening usually involves little downtime, although temporary redness, swelling and discomfort can occur. Your clinician should explain suitability, aftercare and the risks relevant to your treatment before you proceed. Read the AAD's guidance on skin tightening.
