What reactions can occur?
The manufacturer’s instructions describe local reactions such as redness, swelling, pain, heat or itching. The degree of reaction varies. We explain what to expect for your treatment and how to reach us if recovery differs.
Do not judge an immediate swollen appearance as the final result. Do not press or massage bumps simply because you want them gone before an event; ask your treating clinician for advice.
Which symptoms are urgent?
Unusual or increasing pain, pale or dusky skin, or a rapidly worsening reaction after facial injection needs urgent medical assessment. Sudden visual symptoms require emergency help. Severe allergic symptoms, including difficulty breathing, also need emergency care.
These warnings do not mean that every bump is dangerous. They explain why symptoms must be judged in context, and why waiting for a routine review can be inappropriate when a serious change occurs. Contact the clinic as well so the treating team knows what is happening.
How should I prepare?
Tell us about allergies, previous injectable reactions, current illness, skin infection, medicines and bleeding problems. Bring the names and dates of earlier fillers or other aesthetic treatments. Discuss pregnancy or breastfeeding before booking.
Do not stop prescribed medicines on your own to reduce bruising. The prescriber and treating clinician can advise whether changes or postponement are needed.
What aftercare should I follow?
Use the written plan for your treatment. It covers the skin products to use, sun exposure and when to resume activities or arrange another treatment. The manufacturer advises avoiding UV exposure in the early days after injection and protecting the area with appropriate sunscreen.
Avoid adding unfamiliar active skincare while you are checking a reaction. Do not seek another injection to correct a concern before the cause has been assessed.
