Start with a realistic goal
Fullness, border definition and natural asymmetry are different concerns. Your anatomy and lip movement limit what can reasonably change. A reference photograph can explain a preference, but it cannot determine a safe amount or guarantee the same shape.
You may decide after assessment that the expected change is not worth the recovery or risk. No treatment is a valid option. We do not treat a catalogue syringe size as a requirement to use that amount.
What should you tell the doctor?
Mention previous lip or facial filler, cold sores, allergies, medicines, supplements and active skin problems. Bring product records when available. Tell us about upcoming dental work or another cosmetic treatment so we can assess the timing.
Do not stop prescribed medicine to reduce bruising without advice from the prescriber. An active sore, infection or inflammation may mean postponement. Elective treatment is generally deferred during pregnancy or breastfeeding when safety is not established.
Common and serious risks
Swelling, bruising, tenderness and redness can occur. A persistent lump, delayed inflammation or infection may need treatment. Rare blood-vessel injury can damage skin or vision and can cause permanent harm. These risks remain possible even with authentic products and a licensed doctor.
Seek immediate medical attention for unusual or severe pain, pale, grey or blue skin, a visual change or stroke-like symptoms. Contact the clinic urgently as well. Breathing difficulty or a serious allergic reaction is an emergency. FDA risk guidance.
Consider reversibility honestly
Hyaluronidase can be used for some hyaluronic acid filler problems, but it is another medical treatment with possible adverse effects. It is not an at-home remedy, a guarantee that the exact original appearance will return or a way to make the initial injection risk-free.
A doctor needs to assess the cause of an unwanted change before choosing correction. Squeezing, self-injection or online massage instructions can delay appropriate care.
