NAD Drip Benefits: Evidence and Risks

What human studies show about NAD+ infusions, what they do not prove, and the risks to discuss before treatment.

NAD+ is involved in normal cellular energy processes. That biological role does not prove that an NAD drip will increase your energy, improve memory or slow ageing. Human evidence for these wellness outcomes remains limited.

At Evolution Clinic, we assess your health and reason for considering an NAD+ IV drip before discussing treatment. If you have persistent tiredness, assessment of its cause comes first.

What has research actually measured?

A small 2019 pilot studied NAD+ and related substances in blood and urine during a six-hour infusion. Eight participants received NAD+ and three received saline. It showed changes in measured metabolites; it did not demonstrate longer life or a reliable improvement in fatigue or cognition. Read the primary study.

A blood measurement is not the same as a patient benefit. A useful trial must also show that people feel or function better, compare treatment with an appropriate control and assess harm. Findings from cells, animals or oral supplements cannot simply be transferred to an intravenous treatment.

Can an NAD drip improve low energy?

There is no dependable response or duration we can promise. Tiredness can have different causes, and a temporary change after an appointment does not identify the cause or prove that NAD+ corrected it.

Tell us when fatigue started, how it affects your day, which medicines or supplements you take and whether other symptoms are present. We discuss whether a medical assessment or another approach is more appropriate than an infusion. Do not stop prescribed treatment to try NAD+.

What side effects and risks matter?

The needle and infusion carry risks, including an injection-site reaction and infection. The product, preparation and your health also matter. An infusion is not risk-free because its ingredient also exists in the body.

The FDA has reported severe chills, shaking, vomiting and fatigue after some NAD+ injectable products, with some patients needing medical care. Its warning concerns unsuitable ingredients and possible contamination in sterile preparation; it is not an estimate of the risk of every NAD+ infusion. FDA safety notice.

We use authentic products from authorized suppliers and explain the proposed product, material risks, alternatives and monitoring before consent. Tell the treating team immediately about pain, feeling unwell, chills or any unexpected symptom during an infusion. Breathing difficulty, chest pain, collapse or a severe allergic reaction needs urgent medical help.

Is NAD+ the same as a vitamin drip?

No. NAD+ is a specific molecule; a vitamin infusion contains the particular vitamins and other ingredients prescribed for that treatment. Evidence for one does not establish benefits for the other. Our IV drip benefits guide explains the broader question.

You can decide not to proceed after consultation. A treatment course should follow a clear clinical reason and review plan, not an assumption that more infusions produce better health.
