The product

NCTF 135 HA is made by Fillmed Laboratoires (formerly Filorga Médical) in France and is CE-marked under the EU Medical Device Regulation. Each 3 ml vial contains 5 mg/ml of non-crosslinked sodium hyaluronate and a polyrevitalising complex of 59 ingredients: 12 vitamins, 24 amino acids, 6 minerals, 6 coenzymes, 5 nucleosides and glutathione. The stated indications are revitalisation and hydration of tired or dull skin, redensification of mature or slack skin, and filling of superficial wrinkles.

Hyaluronic acid plus nutrients

The hyaluronic acid here is non-crosslinked and low in concentration, so it binds water for days rather than months. NCTF is therefore not a long-acting hydration gel like a cross-linked booster. Its design is different: the hyaluronic acid carries vitamins, amino acids, minerals and coenzymes into the dermis, where fibroblasts use them, and the many superficial injections themselves provoke a mild repair response. That is why the product is used as a course of three sessions rather than as a single treatment.

What the evidence shows

Fillmed funded a randomised, active-controlled multicentre trial of 146 adults: 107 received three NCTF sessions plus a moisturiser and 38 received the moisturiser alone. At day 75 and day 120 the NCTF group had significantly shallower crow's feet, neck and décolleté wrinkles and higher facial radiance scores than the control group, and skin hydration was significantly higher seven days after the last injection. Adverse events were mostly mild and resolved within 48 hours.

A second Fillmed-funded split-face study of 40 adults gave three sessions three weeks apart with a micro-needle device on one side and a 32G needle on the other. Wrinkles, hydration and radiance improved on both sides through day 120, minor reactions such as redness, bruising and itching occurred in 17 percent, and no serious event was reported. Both studies were paid for by the manufacturer; we cite them because they are the only controlled data on this product and their numbers are specific.

Areas we treat

The manufacturer's protocol names the face, neck and décolleté. Our doctors most often treat the full face, adding the neck or décolleté when the skin there is crepey or sun-damaged. Fine crow's feet respond in the trial data; deep folds, volume loss and expression lines do not, and need a different treatment.

Technique and course

NCTF is injected with a 30G or 32G needle in a multipuncture pattern or by retrotracing, or through a cannula. Fillmed's protocol is three sessions 21 days apart, repeated at least twice a year. Our doctors book each session after checking how the previous one settled, and the decision to start a second course is made at review.

NCTF and pigmentation

Many people find this page while looking for a skin booster for pigmentation, so here is the honest answer. NCTF contains glutathione and vitamins, but no published study shows it fades melasma, sun spots or post-inflammatory marks, and its randomised trial did not measure melanin at all. What NCTF does do is hydrate dehydrated skin and improve radiance, which makes an uneven, dull complexion look more even. If you have distinct pigment patches, we assess IPL pigmentation treatment, the White Gloss laser protocol or a PRX-T33 peel as the pigment treatment, and NCTF as skin-quality support between those sessions, never as the pigment treatment itself.

NCTF or another cocktail booster

Jalupro Classic uses four amino acids and hyaluronic acid with no vitamins; it is the narrower, collagen-focused option and is also indicated for stretch marks and body skin. The Monaco Cocktail is a doctor-prepared mesotherapy mix rather than a fixed product. NCTF is the broadest fixed formulation, with 59 listed ingredients and controlled trial data, which is why we choose it for tired, dull skin on the face, neck and décolleté.

NCTF or a persistent hyaluronic acid booster

Novacutan BioPro and Restylane Skinboosters place cross-linked hyaluronic acid at 20 mg/ml that stays in the dermis for months, and Profhilo delivers 64 mg of hybrid hyaluronic acid from ten points. Their aim is lasting water binding; NCTF's aim is nutrient delivery and radiance with short-lived hydration. NCTF or a polynucleotide booster

Plinest and Rejuran Healer contain polynucleotides from salmon DNA and are used for repair, thin under-eye skin and acne scars. Mesoten Aqualight pairs hyaluronic acid with succinic acid and peptides.

NCTF with other treatments

A HydraFacial a few days before clears the surface; LED therapy after a session can be used to calm redness; LDM ultrasound is a separate skin-quality treatment. We space injectables, peels and IPL so that each treatment's effect and any reaction can be judged on its own.

Before your appointment

Bring your skincare product list so we can confirm what to pause and when to restart. Do not stop prescribed treatment without your prescriber’s advice.

Bring details of previous injectables and facial treatments: the products, dates and any reactions. Tell us about all medicines and supplements, especially those that affect bleeding: warfarin and other anticoagulants, aspirin, ibuprofen, vitamin E, St John's wort, garlic and ginger supplements. Do not stop a prescribed medicine on your own; we assess bruising risk and coordinate with your prescriber if a medical decision is needed.

Let us know about pregnancy, breastfeeding, allergies to any vitamin or to hyaluronic acid, a history of cold sores, autoimmune disease, recent sunburn or tanning, and any laser, peel or microneedling in the last few weeks.

On the day

Come with clean skin if you can. We cleanse the area and, if you wish, apply a numbing cream before the injections. The session ends with written aftercare and the date of your next review.

After treatment

Keep the injection points clean and do not rub or massage the area unless your doctor tells you to. Leave makeup off until the papules have settled and the injection points have closed, usually by the next day. Follow the timing in your written aftercare for exercise, sauna, steam and swimming; heat, sweating and pressure on fresh injection points increase swelling and bruising, and pool or sea water raises infection risk while the points are open. Protect treated skin from the sun and use a broad-spectrum sunscreen daily, because inflamed injection points can darken with sun exposure. Restart acid exfoliants when the skin has settled, as advised.

Papules and redness usually settle within a day or two, and in the trials most reactions resolved within 48 hours; bruises take longer. Contact us if any symptom worsens instead of settling.

Review and repeat treatment

We review the skin before each of the three sessions. After the course we assess the change against the goal we agreed and discuss whether a second course later in the year is worthwhile, as the manufacturer's protocol suggests. That is a fresh decision based on your skin, not an automatic booking.

Common effects

Fillmed lists erythema, swelling, a burning sensation and pain as expected reactions. Small papules at the injection points, tenderness and itching are also usual, and bruising is common, particularly if you take medicines that affect clotting. In the manufacturer's trials most reactions were mild and resolved within 48 hours.

Less common effects

Nodules, granuloma, skin inflammation, infection and an allergic reaction, including a systemic allergic reaction, are listed by the manufacturer or reported for mesotherapy generally. Darkening of the skin at the injection points can follow sun exposure, and a cold sore can be reactivated by injections around the mouth. Tell us promptly about persistent or worsening symptoms; do not treat them with another cosmetic treatment elsewhere without medical review.

When to get immediate help

Any facial injection carries a small risk of product entering a blood vessel. Get immediate medical help for unusual or severe pain, skin near the injection site turning white, grey or blue, any change in vision, or signs of a stroke such as sudden weakness, numbness, face drooping or difficulty speaking. Difficulty breathing or swelling of the tongue or throat needs emergency care. Do not wait for a routine clinic reply.

When treatment may be unsuitable

The manufacturer contraindicates NCTF in pregnancy and breastfeeding, under the age of 18, with a history of autoimmune disease, with hypersensitivity to any ingredient, and where there is skin disease or alteration in the treatment area. We also postpone or decline treatment with an active infection, cold sore or open wound in the area, severe active acne or dermatitis, a bleeding disorder or anticoagulant treatment until reviewed, a history of keloid or hypertrophic scarring, sunburn or intense tanning in the last two weeks, and a deep peel or ablative laser that has not fully healed. Licensing and authentic supply are important standards, but they do not remove treatment risks.
