Dry and dehydrated skin

Dry skin is the concern behind most of the 275 Dermadrop facials we performed last year. Dubai air-conditioning and sun pull water out of the epidermis, and a cream applied on top only reaches the outer dead layer. The Dermadrop hyaluronic acid cartridges (HYAL N10 and HYALDERM in the manufacturer range) place hyaluronic acid inside the epidermis, where each molecule binds many times its weight in water. The American Academy of Dermatology lists hyaluronic acid among the ingredients that relieve dry skin; the difference with Dermadrop is where it ends up. Skin looks plumper and feels less tight when you leave, and the effect holds for 1 to 2 weeks after a single session.

Dull skin and uneven tone

Dullness is usually dehydration plus a thick layer of dead cells that scatters light. The oxygen jet loosens that outer layer while the serum goes in, so the surface reflects light more evenly straight after the session. For pigmentation and uneven tone we use the brightening cartridge over a course of 4 to 6 sessions; the manufacturer lists pigmentation and lack of moisture among the concerns its TDA facial range addresses. Dermadrop lightens surface unevenness; it does not treat melasma or sun spots, for which we offer an IPL photofacial or a carbon laser peel.

Fine lines and enlarged pores

The MITOCELL and PRODERM cartridges carry peptides and antioxidants. The manufacturer reports visible change after four PRODERM applications. Fine surface lines on the forehead, around the eyes and on the neck soften because the skin is hydrated and firmer, and pores look smaller once the surface around them is smoother; our before-and-after gallery shows a forehead, a neck and a pore case after one session each. Dermadrop does not relax muscles, so expression lines that appear when you frown or smile need Botox, and folds caused by volume loss need filler.

Sensitive, reactive and post-treatment skin

Because nothing touches or breaks the skin, Dermadrop is one of the few facials we offer on reactive skin. The CANNABOOST cartridge is formulated for irritated skin, and the manufacturer lists sensitive skin and skin irritations among its indications. We also use a calming session to speed up recovery 1 to 2 weeks after a laser or peel, once the skin has closed. On an active flare, sunburn or infection we wait.

Results you can expect

One session: hydrated, smoother, brighter skin the same day, lasting 1 to 2 weeks. A course of 4 to 6 sessions 1 to 2 weeks apart: firmer feel, softer fine lines, more even tone that you keep with one session every 4 to 8 weeks. What it will not do: remove deep wrinkles, lift sagging skin, add volume or treat acne, rosacea or melasma as a disease. We say so at the first visit rather than sell a course that cannot deliver.

The Dermadrop TDA device and serums

Dermadrop TDA (Transdermal Application) is made by Meddrop BioMedical Technologies GmbH in Hamburg, Germany, and the serums are produced in the company's German facilities. Our device and every cartridge come from the official UAE distributor, and we can show you the paperwork. The serum is bound in the LP3 complex, nested lipid-water spheres that carry the active ingredients, and mixed with pure oxygen in the applicator; the manufacturer states this opens the lamellar structure of the epidermis by around 65 percent during the application. The cartridges we use most are the hyaluronic acid formulas for dryness, PRODERM and MITOCELL for fine lines and firmness, CANNABOOST for reactive skin, and the BIOBTX peptide formula in the separate anti-wrinkle protocol.

Dermadrop or injected mesotherapy?

Mesotherapy injects a cocktail of hyaluronic acid, vitamins and amino acids into the dermis with a fine needle. It places the product deeper and holds it longer, but leaves small marks for a few days and can bruise, and it is not an option in pregnancy. Dermadrop delivers a similar class of ingredients through the epidermis with no marks, and you can book it in your lunch break. If you have never had a skin treatment, want no downtime, or are pregnant or breastfeeding, start with Dermadrop. If you want the deeper placement and accept a few days of marks, injected mesotherapy is the better spend.

Dermadrop or HydraFacial?

HydraFacial is a cleansing treatment: a vortex tip exfoliates, extracts blackheads and infuses a serum at the surface. It is the right choice for congested, oily skin with blocked pores. Dermadrop does not extract; it delivers a higher concentration of a chosen active into the epidermis. Many patients alternate the two, HydraFacial for a deep clean and Dermadrop for hydration, or book HydraFacial first and Dermadrop 1 to 2 weeks later.

Dermadrop or microneedling?

SkinPen microneedling makes thousands of controlled micro-injuries to trigger collagen production. Dermadrop makes no injury and builds no collagen; it hydrates and feeds the skin you have. They are complementary rather than competing: a Dermadrop calming session 1 to 2 weeks after microneedling shortens the recovery. Dermadrop facial or Dermadrop BIOBTX?

The standard facial uses hydrating, peptide or calming cartridges. The Dermadrop anti-wrinkle facial is a two-step BIOBTX protocol with a peptide cartridge built around acetyl hexapeptide-8 (Argireline) and hyaluronic acid. A manufacturer-sponsored observational study of 19 participants in the Journal of Cosmetic Dermatology (2026) reported reduced sebum on oily, acne-prone skin after the TDA BIOBOTOX protocol with no adverse events; it is a small sponsored study, not proof of a Botox-like effect on wrinkles. We book BIOBTX for patients who want a smoother look without injections and know it is not botulinum toxin.

Exosomes and LED

ASCE+ exosomes and LED therapy are add-ons we combine with Dermadrop in one visit for patients recovering from a laser or peel, or wanting a stronger anti-ageing course.

Before your session

Come with clean skin or we cleanse it for you. Stop retinoids, glycolic, salicylic or lactic acid and benzoyl peroxide 24 to 48 hours before, because the oxygen jet would drive them deeper than intended and sting. No waxing, threading or strong peels on the face for 1 week before. Do not book in the 2 to 4 weeks after an ablative laser or deep chemical peel; a fresh sunburn also means waiting. Tell your practitioner about every skincare product that has ever caused a reaction, including products sold as natural, and about pregnancy, breastfeeding, isotretinoin in the last 6 months, and any cancer treatment.

After your session

Skin is slightly pink and cool for up to an hour. Makeup after 1 to 2 hours. Skip saunas, hot yoga, steam and swimming pools for 24 hours, and use SPF 30 or higher every day; keep out of strong sun for 48 hours. Restart retinoids and acids after 48 hours. Do not add several new active products at once while you judge how your skin responded; use your usual moisturiser and cleanser for the first two days.

Side effects

Expected: mild pinkness and a cool, tight feeling for a few minutes to an hour. Uncommon: redness lasting a day, small dry patches, or a rash if you react to a serum ingredient such as a plant extract or a preservative. Rare: hives or swelling from an allergy to an ingredient. Contact us the same day if redness persists beyond 24 hours, a rash spreads or the face swells. Difficulty breathing or rapidly spreading swelling is an emergency: call an ambulance first.

Who should not have a Dermadrop facial

• Active cold sores, bacterial infection, open wounds, fresh sunburn or an eczema or dermatitis flare on the face; we wait until it has healed. - Known allergy to a serum ingredient: hyaluronic acid, vitamins, peptides or botanicals. Bring the ingredient list of anything that has reacted. - Ablative laser or deep chemical peel on the face in the last 2 to 4 weeks. - Isotretinoin in the last 6 months, unless your dermatologist clears it. - Cancer under active treatment or an uncontrolled systemic illness; ask your physician first. - Pregnancy and breastfeeding are not exclusions, but we choose the cartridge with you and skip any ingredient your obstetrician has ruled out.
